The Volusia/Flagler Advanced Practice Nursing Council is sponsoring their 6th Annual Sunshine Conference on June 4, 2011 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Daytona Resort and Conference Center, 2700 N. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida, 32118.

The focus of the program covers topics that will attract the curiosity of a variety of advanced practice nurses. Topics to be covered and not limited to: pain management; palliative care; childbirth alternatives; anesthesia; prevention of medical errors; cardiovascular management; hyponatremia; malpractice; women’s health; probiotics and dementia. More topics to be added as the agenda is finalized. Past years attendance has been 150-200 advanced practice nurse from Florida and Georgia.

The Volusia/Flagler Advanced Practice Nursing Council is a local professional organization that provides continuing education and networking for the advanced practice nurses in Volusia and Flagler Counties. Advertisement for this event will be throughout the State of Florida via the web.

VFAPNC is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network and the Florida Nurses Association and will be working closely with them for the success of our program. The VFAPNC is an association of advanced practice nurses organized to advance, foster, encourage, promote and improve the care given to patients by Advanced Practice Nurses. The Council identifies the advanced practice role as a specialty that is essential to the delivery of high quality and cost effective health care. The Council believes that continuing education is essential to professional growth, excellence in clinical practice and optimal patient outcomes. The provision of opportunities for continuing education is an integral activity of VFAPNC. The Council further believes in educating the community as to the role of the Advanced Practice Nurse. The Council supports efforts to assist community organizations in the delivery of health care to the public. We are a 501-C6 not for profit organization and our tax ID # is 27-3299972

Furthermore, the Council is involved in legislative reform to ensure optimum healthcare for their community and fosters awareness of such legislation that may affect the people they serve. The Council members serve as role models for all nurses in their community and encourage mentorship and preceptorship of advanced practice students and novice nurses within their district.

We are requesting your participation as an exhibitor for the cost of $1000. There is no tier pricing for pharmaceutical companies available. This price includes registration to the conference, advertisement at the conference and on our website as an exhibitor, 6-8 ft exhibit table, breakfast and lunch, as well as, an invitation to attend the Friday evening reception. Deadline for exhibitor booths is May 27, 2011.
